Seminar format:

    Lori will focus on how to evaluate proficiencies, identify information gaps, and structure constructive challenges. She will have a plan of progression for all the exercises, but the seminar will be shaped by the participants.
  • Day one: Establishment of the communication system, heeling, recalls, and Open skills.
  • Day two: Understanding, teaching, and proofing of utility skills
  • Also included: Attention activities, scenting games, and other opportunities for people to play with quite young dogs, as well as individual work for more advanced dogs.

About Lori:

Lori has been in the sport of obedience for 40 years; having earned 2 OTCHs, a UDX3, 7 UDs, 2 more CDXs and 2 CDs on 7 Shelties, a Dalmation, an Australian Shepherd and 2 Norwegian Elkhounds. She is actively showing her youngest Sheltie for his OTCH and in agility. She is an AKC judge and a columnist for Front and Finish.

Lori has extensive experience instructing students with all breeds.

Dogs: There will be a limit of 12 working dogs, the working spots are for both days.

Quiet, well-behaved dogs are always welcome to attend with auditors.

Auditing spots are limited to 25.

Fees:

  • Early bird discount if you register by Feb 1, 2012:
    $200 per 2-day working team.
    Auditing: $60 to audit per day.
  • After Feb 1, 2012:
    $250 per 2-day working team.
    Auditing: $70 to audit per day.

  • Snacks and drinks will be provided. There will be an hour lunch break during which you can go out to one of many restaurants or fast food places nearby or bring your own.
